June. Summer that isn't summer :). June turned out to be a crazy and relaxing month. It started out crazy with everything winding down at the same time. There were the last few baseball games and the end of season party, the last few weeks of Tyler's indoor soccer, Hailey's dance recital, and the last few weeks of gymnastics. Then there was all the end of school fun things going on....field trips, parades, last day of school fun, and Hailey's graduation. The biggest new of course is my baby is now a Kindergartener. Not sure how that happened and I'm pretty sure I'm not ready for it. After several weeks of fun filled days and weekends everything came to a halt. Cue the music....... la ......summer vacation....sigh. The summer weather is no where in sight. We are slipping in a quick two week swim lesson for the kids. This mostly for Hailey but since Tyler would have to sit through it we figured he might as well swim as well. Other than that we are enjoying the freedoms and relaxation of summer and not having a going nonstop schedule.
Besides Hailey's graduation, the other big news of the month was Tyler's special Mariner day. Dave managed to get passes for Tyler to meet Kyle Seager, who has/had Tyler's same heart condition. We knew this would be a fun day but had know idea how big of a day it would really be. Besides meeting a pro baseball player that Tyler really looks up to, he got a signed ball and then Kyle gave him one of his own custom bats. So special. Tyler carries taht bat all around the house with him and doesn't want anyone else to touch it. It was a day he will never forget. Then to top it all off we had fabulous seats right down by the field and dug out. What a day.
Now if only we could get rid of this rain and have the weather warm up a bit. It may be selective memory but I never remember getting out of school at the end of the year and not having great summer weather.
